Do backbends hurt or confuse you? Learn key tips to strengthen + open your legs, hips, spine + shoulders that will help you move into urdhva dhanurasana (upward-bow, or wheel) and viparita dandasana (upward facing two-foot staff pose) with greater evenness + spaciousness and less ouch + confusion. Through a deeper understanding of these postures, you’ll approach your backbend practice from a new and more confident perspective. All levels are welcome: you will learn how to use Blocks, straps, and walls to help you feel strength and support in your wheel!

In this LAB, we will explore the muscles of the core and glutes to LEARN about them, WORK them and FLOW with them to gain wisdom about how to mindfully USE, STRENGTHEN and STRETCH these muscles in all the yoga classes you take helping to build the foundations for a stronger, supported practice.
